Online Lecture Series – MEDITERRANEAN CROSSROADS – April-June 2022

The Byzantinist Society of Cyprus organizes a series of online lectures with the general title “Mediterranean Crossroads”. In the first season (Spring – Summer 2022) Professors Judith Herrin, Alessandro Taddei and Athanasios Markopoulos Αθανάσιος Μαρκόπουλος will develop special topics, illuminating aspects of Byzantine culture. The aim of the series’ presentations is to highlight Byzantine and Medieval Studies through the research perspective of leading scholars from around the world. Cyprus and the Mediterranean are crossroads of history and culture and therefore the general theme of the series of lectures responds and at the same time highlights the work and goals of the Byzantine Society of Cyprus.
